About me

Hi, I’m Imanol Gutiérrez

I am an engineer who really enjoys electronics and programming. I like understanding how things work, from the hardware level to the software that controls it, and using that knowledge to build real systems. I especially enjoy designing satellite subsystems and onboard computers for rockets, applying electronics and software to environments where reliability is essential.

I also care a lot about the human interface with systems, and I like designing technology from the user’s point of view, thinking about how people interact with it and how the experience can be.

🚀 About Me

Since I was very young, I have taught myself electronics, robotics, and programming. From an early age, I spent my free time working on small personal projects, mainly out of curiosity and for fun. Over the years, these projects became more complex, and little by little I built a strong and solid base that today gives me a deep understanding of how technology really works.

Working on my own projects from such a young age taught me how to deal with large and complex systems, how to break problems into smaller parts, and how to think step by step when designing a product. This way of learning gave me a lot of resilience and patience, especially when things do not work at the first attempt.

Because I have always designed and built things myself, I have learned how to think from the user’s point of view. I care about how people interact with technology, how systems feel when they are used, and how design decisions affect the final experience. This is why user experience has become a central part of how I approach engineering today.

🌍 Places

I have moved to different places throughout my life in order to grow professionally and take part in opportunities that interested me. I am originally from Vitoria-Gasteiz, where I grew up, and later moved to Bilbao to study engineering.

After finishing my studies, I worked in Madrid (Spain) 🇪🇸, gaining professional experience in a more industrial and technological environment. I have also lived abroad, in Houston (USA) 🇺🇸 and Kiruna (Sweden) 🇸🇪, where I continued developing my career through academic and research opportunities.

Living in different cities and countries has helped me adapt easily to new environments, work with people from different backgrounds, and keep a global and open view of technology and engineering.
